Join us as a Senior Metrology Engineer and drive business growth in quality‑critical Aerospace and Medical Device programmes. Bringing high‑level GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) expertise, you’ll work within cross‑functional project teams to establish and implement metrology and quality systems that ensure products meet stringent requirements.
You will proactively identify issues, independently lead problem investigations to root cause, and collaborate to design and implement effective solutions. You’ll also lead and contribute to manufacturing engineering and R&D initiatives, partnering with continuous‑improvement teams to define robust process controls and deliver sustainable results
What you'll do:
- Expert operator of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
- Expert in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure parts meet exacting customer requirements.
- Expert CMM programmer (Hexagon/PC‑DMIS).
- Interpret complex drawings, lead quality initiatives, troubleshoot measurement issues, and mentor junior staff in high‑precision environments.
- Provide Quality Assurance technical expertise to manufacturing; identify issues and analyse cost of poor quality.
- Lead process development during NPI and new process introductions.
- Perform statistical validation of process capability.
- Engage directly with customers on requirements, reviews, and improvement opportunities.
- Support selection and qualification of fixtures, tooling, and metrology equipment; maintain calibration traceability.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Programme Management, and suppliers to ensure inspection readiness and capability.
- Lead continuous improvement activities, including data analysis, PFMEA, kaizen events, and lean initiatives.
- Partner with Engineering to characterise manufacturing processes, determine capability, identify sources of variation, implement control plans, and establish feedback mechanisms.
- Lead and support projects of varying scope and complexity.
- Support product line transfers and new process introductions.
What it takes:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing), Metrology, or related field, from an accredited college or university
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), 7+ years
- Expert using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) 7+ years
- CMM programming (Hexagon/PC-DMIS), 7+ years.
- Excellent project leader, start to finish.
- Familiarity in Quality System Standards such as ISO 9001 or AS9100
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability in applying statistics to industrial practices.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
- Able to communicate complex technical information to all levels of the organization, able to write technical procedures and work instructions
- Able to work with high requirement customers and communicate effectively.
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
