IDR is seeking a Software Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Austin, TX. This role involves supporting critical enterprise systems in the energy sector, specifically mobile workforce management and meter data management systems. The position offers an engaging environment for experienced professionals to contribute to essential operations and system maintenance.

Position Overview for the Software Engineer:

• This resource will primarily support Mobile Workforce Management system but also back up the Meter Data Management System, as needed.
• The position manages and supports focused technology, performing duties such as supporting batch runs, troubleshooting, implementing customer-requested changes, and writing reports.
• Responsible for system health, patching, upgrading, and supporting training efforts.
• Requires comprehensive knowledge of enterprise application systems, including large data volumes, complex interfaces, job scheduling, and disaster recovery plans.
• Handles system performance evaluation, tuning, and sizing estimates to ensure optimal operation.

Requirements for the Software Engineer:

• 8+ years of experience with customer support of critical systems (applications)
• 8+ years of experience with Oracle Database/PL/SQL experience and setting up system connections
• 8+ years of experience with upgrading, maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering complex-enterprise applications such as Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) or Meter Data Management System (MDMS)
• 8+ years of experience with UNIX navigation, AIX/Linux (specifically Red Hat & SUSE), including shell scripting such as KornShell (ksh)
• 5+ years of experience with Java, Groovy, JavaScript, and Python
