Job Title: Junior Software Development Engineer in Manufacturing Test
Location: Santa Clara, California (Fully Onsite)
Job Type: Contract (6+ months, long-term with potential for conversion)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a fast-paced, high-impact Manufacturing Test team. This team plays a critical role in ensuring the performance and reliability of complex networking hardware systems before they reach customers. The ideal candidate will be passionate about applying software engineering skills to solve hardware-related problems and thrive in a collaborative, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities:Investigate and troubleshoot test failures from the manufacturing line (hardware, scripting, or user-related)
Analyze logs and test data to determine root cause of issues
Collaborate with manufacturing partners in Mexico and Asia to resolve issues in real time
Recommend and implement improvements to test scripts to reduce false failures and improve usability
Support new product introductions into mass production by increasing test coverage and identifying potential issues early
Develop and update manufacturing test plans for existing and new products using Python or Go
Assist with occasional web-based development tasks (e.g., GUIs, dashboards) to enhance manufacturing visibility
Participate in Design for Excellence (DFx) reviews: DFM, DFR, DFT, DFQ, DFC
Contribute to the Defect Reduction Team (DRT) by identifying recurring issues and helping implement long-term fixes
1–3+ years of experience in software test engineering or SDET roles (internship experience considered)
Proficient in Python for scripting and test automation
Strong understanding of testing concepts and writing test plans
Comfortable working in Linux-based environments
Familiarity with databases (ability to query and make basic updates)
Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., SSH, remote server access)
Experience in a manufacturing or hardware test environment
Exposure to liquid cooling systems
Experience with REST APIs, web frameworks like Flask or Django
Familiarity with MySQL or other relational databases
Exposure to Golang
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Computer Science
