IDR is seeking an Entry-Level Telecom Technician to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Suwanee, GA. This role involves installing and troubleshooting telecom and networking systems within educational institutions, contributing to reliable and efficient communication infrastructure. The company operates within the technology and telecommunications industry.
Position Overview for the Telecom Technician :
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot cabling and networking systems in school environments
- Perform data pulls, data drops, and work within ceiling grids to ensure optimal connections
- Conduct diagnostics and resolve network issues to maintain system integrity
- Collaborate with team members and management to ensure project timelines are met
- Travel locally around Gwinnett County to support various school sites as needed
Requirements for the Telecom Technician :
- 1-2 years of experience in IT: cabling and/or networking
- Hands-on experience with data pulls, data drops, working in ceiling grids, troubleshooting network issues
- Basic knowledge of cabling and networking
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel around Gwinnett County to different schools
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Power over Ethernet (POE)
