IDR is seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Dallas, Texas. This role offers an engaging environment within the cybersecurity industry, focusing on supporting high-security environments through Microsoft security technologies and vulnerability management. The role is operational and execution-focused, enabling internal teams to remain focused on architecture, governance, and strategic security initiatives.
Position Overview for the Cybersecurity Operations Engineer:
- Provide hands-on cybersecurity support across Microsoft security technologies, vulnerability management, security hardening, monitoring, and migration validation efforts.
- Support the rollout of data protection controls using Purview and Varonis.
- Work closely with cybersecurity operations and engineering teams to validate security tooling and identify and remediate configuration gaps.
- Support alerting and telemetry coverage to ensure ongoing security compliance.
Requirements for the Cybersecurity Operations Engineer:
- 7+ years with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and broader Microsoft security tooling
- 5+ years with Entra ID, Intune, MFA, and identity/security operations
- 4+ years in vulnerability management and remediation tracking
- Experience supporting DLP tools such as Purview and Varonis
- Strong experience with security operations with knowledge of NIST 800-171
